Jude, 6 years old, was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphocytic leukemia) on August 19, 2010. He had only been in Kindergarten for four days when he became ill. He had a fever of 105 degrees, with bruises all over his legs that later spread to his abdomen.

After a month of treatments, they found out that his leukemia was not in remission. Another round of chemo showed no signs of improvement.  Instead, his cancer increased. He went through a combination of high doses of chemotherapy and eight rounds of Total Body Irradiation to put him into remission. On December 23, 2010, he underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant, with his older brother, Joshua, as his donor. Jude loves Joshua very much – and regards him as his hero (Jude’s drawing is of him and his brother).

After staying at the hospital for four months, Jude finally came home on February 5, 2011. He has just reached his 100^th day Post Transplant on April 2nd, which is a huge milestone for him.  He enjoys being at home, playing with his brother, and just recently, he had gone on his first day out at Sprouts to buy fresh fruits that he had been craving to eat.

Jude plans to be a doctor when he grows up to help other children with cancer. His brother, Joshua, had promised him that he too will become a pediatric oncologist. Together they plan to conquer childhood cancer!
